Page Targeting on Shopify: Show Different Bars on Different Pages

A bar shown to every visitor on every page is the weakest possible deployment. The shopper on /cart needs a different message than the shopper on the homepage. PulseBar's page targeting (Pro and Advanced) lets you compose a per-surface merchandising layer in minutes.

How page targeting works in PulseBar

Each bar has a target field that accepts a comma-separated list of paths with wildcard support. Examples:

  • / — homepage only
  • /cart — cart page only (best for free-shipping nudges)
  • /collections/all — exact path
  • /collections/* — all collection pages
  • /products/* — all product pages
  • /blogs/* — all blog pages

Three patterns that work

Pattern 1 — Cart-page-only free shipping nudge

Target /cart only with “You're $12 away from free shipping.” Apply the Free Shipping Nudge sample, which ships with /cart targeting pre-configured. The single highest-ROI announcement bar use case.

Pattern 2 — Product-page urgency

Target /products/* with a countdown bar (“Sale ends in 02:14:36”). Layer in the discount code chip. Every product page now has urgency without losing the homepage to the same message.

Pattern 3 — Homepage hero bar + everywhere-else thin bar

Two bars. The first: bold, full-features, homepage only (target: /). The second: thin, single-line, everywhere else (target: leave blank or use all-pages). Lets the homepage carry the hero promo while the rest of the site keeps a quieter message.

Status flips automatically

When a bar's target doesn't match the current page, it doesn't render. Status stays Active, but no impression fires. Analytics stay clean.
